3 WORDS TO LIVE BY
Lift, build and inspire are three of the most important and valued words in my life. I strive to implement each of these actions daily and by doing so, I notice my life is truly blessed. By lifting building and inspiring not only do I help improve myself but others along the way.
In my life, I know that I appreciate when people build me up and encourage me rather than tear me down with negativity and sometimes even sarcastic comments. But who doesn't appreciate that? Because everyone wants to be built up, something I'm working on is positive encouragement and reinforcement rather than criticism and sarcasm. When I perform this action, everyone wins. I feel good and the other person I'm building up feels good.
Within my own family and groups of friends, it's often easy to throw around negative phrases without even thinking about them. For example, "You're so dumb." or "That looks like crap." These phrases should be omitted from our conversations and replaced with "You're doing great." or "Keep trying, you'll get there!" As simple and cliche as this sounds, it's harder said than done. Everyone knows we need to lift build and inspire but why aren't we?
Think about those three words the next time you interact with a family member or friends and make it a goal to uplift at least someone today. Because in the end, it's the little things that count. It's the little things that make up the big differences.
